Newquay Roadrunners would like to invite all runners to the first of their 2006 training runs along the Camel Trail.
The date is Sunday 22nd January, starting at the Borough Arms Car Park, Dunmere, Bodmin at 9.30 a.m.
The Camel Trail, as most of you know, is flat, traffic free and scenic, and these runs have attracted many runners from throughout Cornwall, for the past few years.
Runners of all abilities and speeds are welcome, with the emphasis being on an enjoyable run of whatever distance you require, with company. It is also an opportunity to run with other Cornish club members, in a social situation.
The proposed route will be Dunmere to Wenford (Pooley’s Bridge), which is approximately 6.2 miles, giving a 12+ mile out and back run. People wishing to run for a shorter distance can turn back at any time. More experienced runners can then carry on from Dunmere towards Padstow, with some covering the full 22 miles.
There is no need to be a club runner, but it is an ideal contact point for anyone thinking about joining a running club. Several runners have joined clubs after participating in this run.
A pint in the Borough Arms after is a possibility, and for those wanting a Sunday Lunch, it is advisable to book in advance. The phone number is : 01208 73118.
A small donation of £1 minimum per runner, would be appreciated. This will go to C.L.I.C.
We look forward to seeing you there.
The date for the second run, is Sunday 12th February, with the same venue and start time.
The charity for this run will be Mount Edgecumbe Hospice.
